GLEE Season 1
The latest TV show that's sweeping the nation has sadly come to a season's end, well until April that is. The plot: a high-school Spanish teacher becomes the director of the school's Glee club, hoping to restore it to its former glory. Genre: comedy, drama, and musical. Award: 2009 Artios Outstanding Achievement in Casting - Television Plot - Comedy. One dramatic plot deals with Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson), Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray), and Mark Salling (Noah "Puck" Puckerman) are in a not-so-secret love-triangle. Finn and Quinn are couples and Puck is Finn's best friend; Quinn becomes pregnant and initially tells Finn it's his, but it actually belongs to Puck. But Glee isn't all about drama, Glee is amazing because of all the numbers they do throughout the season. Such as Don't Stop Believing - Journey, My Life Would Suck Without You - Kelly Clarkson, Gold Digger - Kanye West, mashups such as It's My Life/Confessions & Halo/Walking On Sunshine, and much MUCH more! I don't want to spoil EVERYTHING! So please, if you've never seen Glee before, I hope reading this blog will at least caused some curiosity to watch the show. Season 2 starting in April 2010!

File Sharing.. Out Of Hand?
On December 7, 2009. Joel Tenenbaum (a Boston University doctoral student) was fined $657,000.00 for illegally sharing 30 copyrighted songs. Joel Tenenbaum could not pay the fine so he was forced to declare bankruptcy. Although, the law in Canada is unclear and that ISPs cannot divulge IP addresses to third parties (e.g. music industry), but anytime of the day, that law could change and every file sharer within Canada will be in hot water!

Now, if 30 copyrighted songs was fined for $657,000.00, imagine all the songs that YOU downloaded/shared illegally. I'm pretty certain that it's above 30. Now imagine the fine you may get. I don't know about you, but these fines are extremely out of hand. $657,000.00 for only 30 songs? That's crazy! Please share your comment!

Twitter!
If you've been living under a rock, Twitter has overtaken the world by storm! If you're familiar with Facebook, Twitter is just like Facebook's status updates. Twitter can be used for either professional use or personal use. Although if you use it for personal use, there have been cases where people have been fired because of the use of Twitter. For example, YouTube Star TimothyDelaGhetto has been fired from California Pizza Kitchen because of Twitter. Although people who use it professionally, like our ICT teacher Mr. Vogel (click link here)
he has followers from England and Australia all interested in Physics. He also recommended Twitter to our past principal: Mr. Cooke. He has now an occupation with wolfram alpha. Join Twitter now!

FUN NEW WEBSITES!!!!!
There's new web 2.0 websites that we found: (click the links to see for yourself)
iNudge
Sumo Paint 2.0
iNudge is crazy fun because you can create your own music with different styles of instruments. Such as: ToneMatrix, Harp, Organ, Saturn, Frogster, Avatar, Rhode Bass, and Drums. iNudge was created by Germany (don't worry, they're awesome!). iNudge will make others go crazy because of all the different sounds blending together to make a song... BUT! YOU will become hypnotized by the different ways you can create your own music!
Sumo Paint 2.0 is amazing! To me, it's like a blend of Adobe Photoshop and Paint... but EXTREMELY better. There's a symmetry tool where no matter where you drag your mouse, across the page there will be a symmetrical outcome and you can create mind-boggling shapes (Pacman)
I highly recommend on visiting these websites!

Sonnet that I made in Grade 11
Love… Or Friendship
Your friendship makes me infatuated,
When I talk to you all we do is laugh.
As I fall asleep in my giant bed,
Just wanting to talk to you in the caf.
But I’m just too shy because of our friends,
And it’s hard not to look over at you.
I really hope our friendship will not end,
I cannot part from the smile that you do.
The secrets we’ve shared will remain silent,
Silent as the ringer on your cell phone.
Never thought you were a disappointment,
Whether I feel like I’m in the friend zone.
But whenever you need a good long talk,
Call me; I’ll be your own personal lock.
Really old! Inspiration? This girl I liked..

Hoping for a happy ending...
For a while now I've been the best supporter in all you did. Even though I might be trying to move into something that may not be, I've been feeling this emotion for a long time. Every time I see you butterflies fill my stomach, but at the same time I feel happy and try to impress you or get your attention. When you talk to me I feel lucky, and when we laugh together it feels like old times. But am I feeling an emotion that will never be mutual? Every song I hear dealing that COULD relate to my situation, I pay close attention to the lyrics and begin to memorize it. The latest song that relates to me is New Girl - New Boyz ft. D&D. Especially the line:
How did she end up being caught up all in my world.
Cause now i just imagine baby you can be my new girl.
No jokes, no games im feeling you a whole lot.
I ran into you and no turns it was a road block.
Now as time passes by, I hope that someday the emotion I am feeling will become mutual. Till then, I am hoping for a happy ending..

DJ Hero
I have a PS3, and I have recently purchased the game DJ Hero. It's a spinoff the Guitar Hero. In the game, you are the DJ who djs the music in a club playing various mixes that will make you bob your head to the beat. Various mixes that you would never think of hearing, such as I Want You Back - Jackson 5, My Name Is - Eminem, and H to the Izzo - Jay-Z. As the game progresses, you will be able to unlock various items (new DJ's, new tracks, new decks, new venues, ect). Some characters are Daft Punk and the late DJ AM. The game itself contains your own turntable, equipped with a crossfader, and an effects button. Also it has three buttons on the record itself (green, red, and blue). Also, if you're at a party and you want to play the music from DJ Hero; without playing the actual game, then you can activate the Auto-Play and your party will be singing/rapping/dancing along to the mix! All I have been doing since I got it was play all night. It's that addicting! I would give it 5/5. Although, the one thing I would change about it, is to create your own DJ. Other than that, it's a must buy game. Go out there and buy DJ Hero!!

OLPC XO Laptop
Last year the students in this course held a fundraiser to buy two XO Laptops.
These laptops have been designed for use by students in third world countries.
They are given to students to take home where in some cases they might be the only source of light. The class kept one laptop and the other was donated to the OLPC Program.
The XO contains many innvoative features such as daylight visible screen, a flash drive, mesh networking, and a large collection of pre-installed software.

Texting Polls
What was asked of us was "Does anyone have a cellphone?"
reluctantly we've denied but we did admit to having it in our possession
Next we were asked to go our gmail inbox and open various links from: www.polleverywhere.com/
and then we texted our answer either if we did one certain thing or not. For example, "I will have an H1N1 vaccination" and the choices were Yes, No, or Not Sure. Immediately, once the text was sent, we see the polls increase/decrease depending on the answers. Although, some students did not have cell phones in their possession therefore could not participate in the voting.
If the cell phone was used for everyday classes to participate (voting, research, ect.), then the ban on cell phones within schools should be lifted. Although, students may have to change their plan to free texting in order to text freely

Artona
Yesterday we went to Artona for our grad pics
i wore a purple dress shirt with a white tie for action shots and then changed into a white dress shirt with a black tie, all from Internation at Metrotown in Burnaby. The action shot i took in the white room was a michael jackson toe freeze while swiping the coat back (R.I.P. MJ!). Also, for the group pictures i took with my friends Jackie, Ferdinand, and Elias... then later i took one with A LOT of people, i think about 16. The last shot that was taken is where we basically dogpiled on everyone crushing everyone! LOL everyone was screaming AHHH my chest! LOL
All in all, the pictures i took turned out awesome.
Sighh... graduation already

Another Post, For Another Day...
Today we visited Wolfram Alpha (http://www.wolframalpha.com/) where we inputted a number (ie. 256 binary) and found out the conversion from a decimal number to the binary code. My binary position within the ICT 12 class is 01010.
Also, we visited Google Analytics (www.google.com/analytics/), we signed up with our gmail account and added it to our blog. We added it by copying and pasting a code into our Google Analytics webcode.

Class Update
This posting is made in my ICT Class. In this course I am working with various programming languages, and presently I am exploring the legacy language Pascal. Some of the other languages I'll be working with include Python, Visual Basic, C++, and Java.
I have a school Google Aps e-mail address and a Gmail address. I need the Gmail address for some advanced Google Aps that aren't part of the education set.
