TWITTER!
Our ICT 12 class have all created a Twitter account for their own purpose. We have been told to follow a certain page in order to see tweets by our teacher, for example homework and updates. Students that did not have a twitter account before now has one and has been taught how to use it. For instance, tweet with various interfaces (TweetDeck, UberTwitter, Twitterific, etc.), follow other users, change the design of the page, and use key abbreviations like "RT", "@(username)", etc. Also, the danger of tweeting about something, and deleting after. The tweet may have been deleted but the danger of other people still seeing that tweet and may cause problems.

Unveiled Today by Apple Corp.
The latest technology unveiled today by the Apple Corp. is temporarily called the Apple tablet. No images and the confirmed name has been released, but on Twitter, many possible names have been released: iSlate, iPad, and iTablet are all possibilities. It has been told that it will have a 10-inch screen and will look similar to a large iPhone with a MacBook-like aluminum back. The price range is estimated to about $800.00 on contract with Verizon and $1000.00 without when it arrives in March. Sources say that employees are still calling the tablet by it's codename "K48"-- from the same source that confirmed the iPhone 3GS exists.

Sad Moment in the World...
Within the Domincan Republic (in the Caribbean), a huge earthquake rattled throughout Haiti which occupies the island of Hispaniola. Haiti is near Cuba, and the earthquake seemed to destroyed Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince. Approximately the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.0 - 7.3 (equivalent to 30 thousand kilotons of TNT) followed by two after shocks were measured to be around 5.5 - 5.9, but still equally devastating. Roughly 3million were affected alone, at the moment there was an estimation of how many casualties leaning towards the thousands. Canada has suggested to send $5million to help with the cause, but this figure is still within discussion. Also, it's been reported that Haiti owes Canada $2.3million, and for Canada to help, they just ignored it because of what happened. Some things to know: a General Hospital in Port-au-Prince was damaged, reported that the Governor-General
was one of the casualties taken from the earthquake. Musician, Wyclef Jean, was born in the Caribbean and has taken the terrible disaster to heart. He asks for everyone to help "I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now." He also wants people to donate money towards a fundraiser to help with the Haitian people. Their goal is $5million. R.I.P. victims of the Haiti earthquake. For some pictures of the tragic event: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/01/earthquake_in_haiti.html

OMG NO WAY! Possible virus found in classmates blog!
One of my classmates' blog has a virus! Sophos Anti-Virus triggered a warning and displayed, probably a false alarm, but nonetheless my classmate was flagged with a possible virus within his blog. Most computer companies use various types of anti-virus' such as Norton, BitDefender, ect. to make sure that there are no virus' coming through at all. The threat that sophos was named "Mal/FunDF-A" and this particular virus targets Macs, PCs, and Linnux. This is could be a false positive because there should be no reason why my classmate should even have a virus within his blog.
